| Do you remember the first time we met? I thought you looked quite spiffy in your blazer. You didn't think much of me. You were actually quite drunk by then. You yelled at me to get back on the sidewalk. I thought you were crazy. Who knew such terrible first impressions would lead to those endless conversations online, then my first drunk dial to you. I was blushing the next day when you told me what I told you. But you felt the same way. I blushed some more. Do you remember when I finally saw you again after we first met? It was on my birthday. I was so nervous and kept asking Tiana if I looked okay. She rolled her eyes at me. You helped me clean Tiana's dirty bathroom. Actually, you wouldn't let me clean at all. I wondered out loud why you kept staring at me. You told me you couldn't help it. Seeing you was the best birthday present ever. I remember the night you asked me to be your girlfriend. I laughed because I havn't been asked out since highschool, but deep down I loved it. I loved every cheesy romantic thing you did or told me. You knew I was a sucker for those things. I loved the way you called me gorgeous. I loved the way you held onto me when I tiptoed to kiss you so I wouldn't lose my balance. My love for you came so naturally, so effortlessly. Mabye it wasn't as easy for you. I've come to accept why we couldn't be together, but that doesn't mean there won't be days like today where everything reminds me of you. I'm a little sad I never got to finish making your birthday present. I think you would have liked it. I loved making you happy and knowing that I put that smile on your face was really the best feeling in the world. |
